REPORTS
SOUTH AMERICA A
ARGENTINA:
Buenos Aires Senatus:
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament has been started in many parishes. Those who attend are invited to active and auxiliary membership. Apart from house-to-house visitation and street contacts, shops and street markets are visited by the legionaries. A Catholic, who joined an Evangelical sect, has returned to the Church. A report from one council shows 30 non-Catholics are visited regularly. Legionaries were encouraged to continue visiting Orthodox parishes and start praesidia in them. Junior legionaries are very active with teenage street contacts as well as True Devotion to the Nation work.
Salta Senatus is helping La Rioja Comitium which was formerly affiliated to the Senatus of Cordoba. Two senatus officers went for five days to the comitium visiting praesidia and doing Legion work, master and apprentice. A few weeks later a team of five legionaries went there and helped with home visitation and setting up new praesidia. The Comitium of Catamarca is preparing for a Legion Congress. There is huge interest in the promotion of Alfie Lambe’s Cause. Every year the anniversary Mass and street contacts are an all-day event.
Corrientes Regia:
The regia's annual youth camp held this year in Posadas, about 300km from Corrientes, from 30 January to 1 February, had an attendance of around 50 youths; not all were legionaries so there was an emphasis on future membership. The spiritual director of the local comitium was present for the duration. Included were Mass, Adoration, walks, games and discussions; the latter covered the Theology of the Body and the life of Alfie Lambe.
BRAZIL:
Belo Horizonte Senatus:
The senatus organised seminars/workshops for officers and members on various levels: praesidia, curiae, and comitia. A comitium reported 42 enthronements of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as well as 552 visits to the sick. Another comitium reported recruitment of 10 active members.
Fortaleza Senatus:
17 adults were prepared for First Holy Communion and visits were made to Protestant families. Approximately 850 people took part in a Marian Walk on the occasion of the Legion of Mary 104th anniversary.
Ponta Grossa Senatus:
Legionaries, among other works, visited nursing homes, hospitals, homes and retirement homes, families of other religions and prisoners and ex-prisoners. They brought Holy Communion to the sick in hospitals.
Recife Senatus:
The legionaries made monthly visits to the public jail and 223 inmates were evangelized in 16 visits to a prison. A comitium reported seven young people and 16 adults received the sacrament of Baptism, one of these young people being a Protestant convert to Catholicism. The senatus and the regia of Carnaíba organized a Peregrinatio Pro Christo in the city of Tuparetama and founded eight praesidia. On April 9th, the House of the Legion of Mary, headquarters of the senatus, was blessed and inaugurated by His Excellency the Most Reverend Archbishop Dom Paulo Jackson.
Rio de Janeiro Senatus:
The Regia of Vitoria reported visits to hospitals and nursing homes and the sick at home bringing Holy Communion to many of them. They made 180 visits to families away from the Church.
Salvador Senatus:
Legionaries evangelized 150 Protestants. They prevented a woman from committing suicide. Some legionaries evangelized prisoners. Legionaries also evangelized young drug addicts, inviting them to church. They founded 20 praesidia and one curia. The Aracaju Regia founded nine praesidia and one curia. The Aracaju Regia organized the Consecration to Jesus through Mary.
Santa Maria Senatus:
Legionaries made 420 visits to patients in hospitals, residences and nursing homes. They brought Holy Communion to the sick at home and in hospitals. They provided catechesis for young people and adults.
São Luis Senatus:
Reports from one set of minutes show 25,100 visits to families. These include non-Catholic families, lapsed Catholics, couples with problems, people divorced and now in civil marriages and others. Visits were made also to prostitutes and to a penitentiary. There were 78 Enthronements of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
São Paulo Senatus:
A congress was planned for 25 April. The attached Regia of Assis reported 2,019 visits to homes, contacting 6,757 people, and 748 visits to the sick at home, contacting 1,596 people. They made 268 visits to hospitals, contacting 1,340 people. Holy Communion was brought to many of the sick at home.
Brasilia Regia:
The regia celebrated the 104th anniversary of the Legion of Mary. A comitium with five senior curiae and one junior curia has a total of 314 active members and 471 auxiliaries.
ASIA B
HONG KONG:
Regia minutes received to April. The curia in Macau has 67 active and 123 auxiliary members. Two attached praesidia reported, but no details were provided in the minutes. 157 members attended a one-day retreat. Visitation to a praesidium showed a family atmosphere with members giving each other support.
MALAYSIA:
The Kuala Lumpur Regia has sent minutes up to April. 1 comitium, 6 curiae and 2 praesidia submitted reports. A new curia was established in February. All presidia have spiritual directors. Active members numbered 785 with 655 auxiliaries. The main works are home and hospital visitation, as well as facilitating RCIA and catechesis. Junior legionaries are involved with faith filled activities including visitation of nursing homes and teaching catechism.
SINGAPORE:
Senatus minutes received to March. An Indonesia based praesidium reported organizing home rosaries, visiting auxiliaries, and maintaining contact with the newly baptized. A university praesidium held an interfaith event and organized a talk on lay vocations. They also mentor a person preparing for baptism and support some junior praesidia. The officers of the junior curia were encouraged to help juniors to transition to senior membership.
INDONESIA:
Jakarta Senatus minutes received to April.
1 regia, 5 comitia, 3 curiae and 2 praesidia reported. Among the works reported by the seniors were visitation of a sick mother which led to her baptism and her daughter becoming a legionary. 11 legionaries where joined by 4 students from the university on a P.P.C. project organized by Pontianak Comitium.
Malang Senatus.
Officers responded positively to a training session, saying it deepened their understanding of their duties and responsibilities. 350 legionaries, some from faraway places, attended an online session on the handbook. The regia attached has 2,323 active members with 1,000 auxiliaries and 212 felites members, who are aged 6 to 8 years. A meeting took place with 22 school principals to introduce the legion to students.
Kaupang Senatus.
No minutes have been received since August 2025. The correspondent is trying to find a way of solving this problem. Some general reports have been received, which show that the members have an active apostolate in visiting homes and hospitals, accompanying priests on sick calls and with the Eucharist, as well as consoling the bereaved. The senatus is a large one with 32,000 members.
TAIWAN:
Minutes for November 2025 to April 2026 were received in bulk. The correspondent is currently working through them. The reports received at the various senatus meetings show that legionaries undertake a varied apostolate. A praesidium with 18 active members assists catechumens on RCIA courses, does home and hospital visitation and visits retired Jesuit priests, praying the Rosary with them after Mass. Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Curia has 11 praesidia and has recruited 11 new members during the year. Queen of Apostles English speaking curia is primarily composed of overseas Filipino workers and new residents in Taiwan. During street contact they invited 30 people to Confession and 13 to join the Legion. The ageing profile of legionaries is recognized as a problem throughout the senatus. In his allocutio, the new spiritual director, Fr. Vincent Lin, urged members not to be limited by age, but to move forward with prayer, imitating Mary’s faith and humility to be faithful disciples of Jesus.
KOREA:
Seoul Senatus:
Minutes received to February. Reports show large numbers of legionaries: for example, Eastern Seoul Regia has 9,326 members. 4 junior praesidia were established in Incheon Regia.
Gwanju Senatus:
Minutes received to May. 3 attached regia reported in March, showing 1,504 baptisms, 4,497 returns to the sacraments and 152 non-Catholics baptized. The senatus is planning a visit to Ireland in November.
Daegu Senatus:
Minutes received to April. In preparation for the 70th anniversary of the Legion in Daegu, councils were asked to raise the number of members from approximately 24,000 to 30,000. Reports show many returns to the sacraments. Street evangelization is also undertaken. Dongchon Curia has 3 youth praesidia and recently one more high school praesidium was established. The initiative for this did not come from adults. The students themselves expressed their desire to join the legion to the curia president.
JAPAN
Osaka Senatus:
Two praesidia reported. Immaculate Heart of Mary praesidium has 5 members who undertake a varied apostolate. They support liturgical ceremonies and volunteer in the religious mission committee, help at a dementia support group and organized and supported a Christmas concert, among other initiatives. Their recruitment efforts led to a visitor regularly attending meetings. Mother of Bethlehem praesidium, founded in 1969, has 5 members and 14 auxiliaries. They meet at the Catholic church in Daito. They carry out a wide range of works both within the church and within the wider community. Within the church, they assist with sacristy duties and the church school and take part in local religious festivals. Outside the church they visit nursing homes and maintain contact with Catholics who rarely attend Mass. Music is an important part of their apostolate and they took part in a civic procession where they highlighted Christian music. They have set up an Instagram account, which they launched in April. This will be used to post news of church and legion activities.
IRELAND PROVINCIAL
Limerick Curia:
Minutes to April received. Monthly patrician meetings and regular games nights are well attended with keen participation. Contact was made with the Augustinians about using the church for Night Fever. A man attends meetings after a recruitment drive in St. John’s Cathedral. Moyross outreach had mediocre results but a new social project is planned. A legion stand at the Milk Market was approved. Public rosaries commence in May. In a visit to a gay bar, contacts were made and Miraculous Medals accepted. Prison visitation is under discussion.
Waterford Curia:
Minutes to April. 16 attended the latest meeting, Our Lady, Star of the Sea in Tramore, with 8 members and priest visited 3 estates for house blessings. Sacred Heart pictures were accepted and legionaries were warmly received by staff and residents at a nursing home. Officers of a new praesidium, Our Lady of Hope, were welcomed to their first meeting.
Lismore Curia:
March minutes received. Hospital and nursing home visits are ongoing with the pilgrim statue. The Rosary was recited at the grotto during May. A number of members play key roles in the Parish Pastoral Council. Only 2 praesidia reported.
Birr-Roscrea Curia:
18 members attended the May curia meeting and most visited Concilium in May. New officers have been ratified. They hope to organise a congress while the curia retreat went well and the Knock pilgrimage is being promoted. Birr has recovered from a weak period and Nenagh hope to do likewise.
Thurles Comitium:
Minutes to April received. Curia attendance is stable. Two Mile Borris and Templemore are focused on recruiting during home and street contacts. Pilgrim statue visits are made to bereaved and the unwell. 2 patrician meetings were held and 3 school visited. One member volunteers at the Morning Star Hostel. Members helped out at Holy Cross recruiting drive and evangelising day in Thurles.
Clare Comitium:
Minutes to March received. The 3 attached praesidia were busy with home visitation over months, especially new estates moving towards Ennis. Killaloe organised open air rosary during Holy Week with increasing numbers attending. Weather was an impediment for a number of weeks.
East Cloyne Curia:
Minutes to March received. Attendance at meetings is excellent. Bweeng praesidium with 4 members and a supportive spiritual director visited schools to hand out ‘prayer packs’ to the sacrament classes. They visit the local nursing home on a weekly basis for the rosary. Home to home visitation is recommencing with improved weather.
Cloyne Curia:
Minutes to April received. This curia, despite low numbers, continues to focus with miraculous medals and literature on an area of huge footfall - Cobh Cathedral and the docks with their constant presence of cruise liners. While recruits are few, since contacts are mostly tourists, there is no doubting the impact they have worldwide. However, to prevent decline local recruiting is required urgently.
Ross Curia:
For the month of May all praesidia had rosary at the grotto. 2 praesidia got a new member each. Visitation to a nursing home includes Mass every 2 weeks where members assist the priest including with anointing when necessary. The rosary is recited weekly which residents and staff appreciate. One small praesidium prepares prayer packs for all the others in the curia to distribute. Regular hospital and home visitation are continuing.
Cork Comitium:
Minutes to April received. Cork ‘Call to Arms’ was a great day, with variety of talks and a chance to meet new legionaries. All were encouraged to try new initiatives. Coronata with 4 praesidia had members on PPC, children’s monthly rosary in Kinsale with refreshments afterwards and a spot on Radio Maria. Home visitation in new estates and assisting in St Patrick’s Day, Easter and Corpus Christi celebrations were undertaken. Our Lady Crowned in Mayfield have morning and evening rosary, bring a welcome letter from the parish priest when visiting homes and do nursing home visitation in cooperation with Regina Coeli. Their international day of prayer attracted a large attendance. Glenville do hospital, home, elderly and nursing home visitation extolling the virtue of Holy Mass, Rosary, Holy Water and the Miraculous Medal. All schools in the greater Glanmire area were visited assisted by the neighbouring praesidium and an Exam Mass with student participation was arranged with Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet included. Rosary at the Grotto and Mass Rock are offered for peace.
Kerry Comitium:
Killarney was the focus of activity with the resumption of the public rosary and procession from May to October. An Maria et Patria project in April saw many homes visited with help of neighbouring curiae. Patrician meetings attracted a good number of non-legionaries.
DUBLIN SOUTHSIDE
Benedicta Curia
Junior members continue the block rosary, and they recruit among their peers and distribute miraculous medals and journals. They also prayed the rosary with a family before collecting the pilgrim statue. A praesidium had several contacts on the South Circular Road and gave out miraculous medals, leaflets and journals to passersby. At the same time, they placed the Alfie Lambe banner on display. Two members from different praesidia continue to visit the MISA Centre at St. James’ Hospital; they have many new contacts there as patients do not stay as long as previously. They often come across patients who were in the Legion in the past, especially when in their younger years. Maria Legionis magazines are distributed as well as miraculous medals and rosaries. Staff are contacted as well and offered miraculous medals and journals. There were 16 recruiting efforts reported.
Mater Ecclesiae Curia
Recruiting is carried out through street contact in both Bray and Dún Laoighaire on Saturday morning. There are also ongoing attempts to recruit through personal contacts.The last two patrician meetings discussed St. John Henry Newman – Doctor of the Universal Church and the religious devotion of poet, Patrick Kavanagh. A praesidium gained 8 members after an open day on September 8th. Main work is home visitation. One lady received confession after an absence of 26 years and is now regularly receiving Holy Communion. The members met 4 families bereaved because of suicide and prayed with them. Hospital and nursing home visitation is also done. Three hundred and fifty Miraculous Medals were distributed to children making their first Holy Communion. Another praesidium with 6 members and 20 auxiliaries main weekly work is visitation to 15 residents of a nursing home. The praesidium continues to support the weekly Eucharistic Adoration and helps with maintaining the Adoration register. Members also undertake street contact in Dún Laoghaire with other praesidia.
Assumpta Curia
About 20 took part in the Rosary procession in May, as part of the Wordwide Marian Procession. Miraculous Medals and rosary beads were distributed. City Quay praesidium is progressing well with weekly street contact as the main work. They recently selected a new secretary. Another praesidium’s main work is running the bookshop where they distribute miraculous medals, Holy water and rosary beads. Curia retreat is organised.
Immaculata Curia
A praesidium with 5 members and 26 auxiliaries carries our weekly home visitation and nursing home visitation. Members also lead a weekly public rosary in their parish church. Curia annual outing to St Mel’s Cathedral Longford took place on 13th June. Annual curia retreat was held on 20th June at St. Joseph's Rathgar Road. Another praesidium with 4 members and 30 auxiliaries main work is home visitation. Legionaries also lead a public rosary in May and October.
Annunciata Curia
As there was no praesidium report at the April curia meeting, legionaries discussed the 3rd Standing Instruction which raised the following points
- What work can be described as substantial? Prayer and planning must be included.
- Do we look forward to doing our legion work? Legion work is contact with another person to bring a soul closer to God.
- Encourage your fellow worker to make the contact, it may be the other person who has the Holy Spirit’s message.
- One legionary does the praying while the other is doing the talking.
- Sometimes it’s the person that says the least creates the lasting impression.
- What would my attitude be if Christ was there in person? We must see and serve the person of Christ.
Other praesidia works include public rosary during May and distribution of Miraculous Medals to First Holy Communion children.
Gloriosa Curia
An outdoor rosary for the residents of the Red Cow Hotel was held in May. Following a weekend recruitment drive in The Oblates, Inchicore, in May, a new praesidium has been set up. Crowning of Our Lady Ceremony took place in Mt. Olivet House in May. It was a very joyful occasion and well attended. A praesidium’s main work is home visitation. One member went on PPC to Glasgow during Holy Week. A young adult member attended the Jubilee of Youth in Rome with Deus et Patria in July 2025.
Ancilla Domini Curia
Curia recent Inner City project was very successful with 25 legionaries participating and an average of eight per session. Legionaries visited over 700 homes and gave out nearly 500 medals with many good contacts. Father Colin offered special prayers at all his Masses during the week and gave an inspiring homily at the closing Mass on the Feast of the Sacred Heart with 20 in attendance. The last two patrician meetings were ‘Patrick, Priest Prophet and Pilgrim’ and ‘Why Go through Mary’; they drew 13 and 11 people respectively. One new member took his promise recently and the curia has five probationary members. A recruiting drive was held on 7th June at Meath Street Church with many good contacts. It is hoped that Auxiliary Bishop Donal Roche will celebrate the annual Legion Anniversary Mass on the 5th September. Legionaries hosted 30 visiting Norwegian legionaries and gave them a tour of Myra House, concluding with two joyful hymns to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The junior praesidium has 5 members, who make rosary beads and distribute miraculous medals. They attend all curia functions

AUSTRIA
Austria Senatus
April minutes received. A curia with 4 senior and 1 youth praesidium has 36 active members and 500 auxiliaries. Care homes, hospitals, prison visited and 21 pilgrim statues are in use. 7 anointing of the sick organised and 3 accompanied to confession, one after 43 years. Another curia organised a film evening for young people. Comitium with 7 directly attached praesidia, 4 senior and 2 youth curiae have 727 auxiliaries to support them in prayer. Homes are visited with 57 pilgrim statues, they lead 15 Nazareth and children’s groups, oversee 24 prayer groups and 13 faith discussion groups, 7 of which are patricians and a youth patricians. 25 received the sacraments after a long absence.
BELARUS
Baranovichi Comitium
Minutes received up to December 2025. They celebrated 30 years of the legion in Belarus. Contact is done at a women’s clinic, at bus stops, in the parks and streets, hospital and nursing homes visited and people with drink problems are helped and encouraged to join the AA I praesidium contacts visitors to their church.
Minsk Comitium.
Works reported, visiting auxiliaries, contact on public transport, bus stops, places of work, visited the sick and lonely, disabled and elderly encouraging them to keep strong in the faith. Prayer is conducted near casinos and clubs. All praesidia are involved in the parish works, church kiosk, rosary, cleaning, assisting the priest in visiting the sick and helping at funerals. All are very diligent in studying the handbook and distributing the miraculous medal.
CROATIA
Zagreb Regia
Reports covered items like, congress held, patricians, street contact, PPC. Spiritual directors’ conference held with 11 attending and 11 also in Zadar Comitium. Prison visited and a mental health hospital. Elderly and sick visited in nursing homes; pilgrim statue is done and 1 person confessed after 20 years. Zagreb East curia visited the Croatian Parliament and spoke to the employees. After a legion visitation to apartments 48 received the sacraments and another praesidium helped a man to confession after 60 years. On 6-8th October last extension was done in Macedonia.
LITHUANIA
Telsiai Comitium
The legionaries of Mystical Rose praesidium of Rietavas do home visitation, visit hospital and nursing homes. They visited 95 homes, spoke with 81 families, 14 no replies. They encouraged those who had drifted away from the Church to return, promoted Holy Mass, Rosary prayer, Eucharistic Adoration. They invited the priest to the homes of parishioners 12 times, have prayed the Rosary on Radio Maria 9 times. Assumpta curia reported efforts to form a new praesidium and restart another praesidium.
Kaunas Comitium
Last minutes received January. A praesidium with 8 members and 20 auxiliary members reported visiting the hospital and arranging for the priest to anoint people who are very ill. Helping with instructing children for first Holy Communion and Confirmation. Street contact was also reported. Visitation of attached praesidia and curiae also featured in the report.
LATVIA
Riga Comitium
There are 8 directly attached praesidia and 2 curiae. The position of secretary of the comitium has been vacant since last October. A praesidium with 7 members reported carrying out street and park contact, contacting people at the train and bus station and promoting the Miraculous Medal. Visits are made to a homeless centre where weekly rosary is said and spiritual reading material handed out.
POLAND
Lublin Regia
Eight directly attached praesidia, 12 curiae and 4 comitia. Two praesidia, 3 curiae and 2 comitia reported. The miraculous medal apostolate is undertaken by all legionaries. Over 14,000 medals distributed in one curia in a year. This is done on the streets, shops, workplace. The rosary is recited each week in the oncology hospital, hospice, the AA club, with disabled children and at roadside crosses. Apartments are visited and 2 people were assisted in a return to confession, 2 for baptism and 1 for sacramental marriage. Exploratio Dominicalus was undertaken, PPC was done in the Czech Republic. One praesidium made contact with some soldiers at the border with Ukraine. The regia will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legion in Lublin on 27th June.
Warsaw Comitium
Last minutes received November 25. A praesidium 2 years old with 11 members reported visiting the sick, miraculous medal apostolate and many church activities organised, for example, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, altar preparation, rosary before Mass. Others reported a 4-day door-to-door visitation project.
Warsaw Praga Comitium
Between 12 and16 attend the meeting. Our Lady of Good Council curia reported with 4 praesidia of 26 active members and 30 auxiliaries. Visiting the sick and lonely and parish work including the kiosk, are the main apostolate with providing spiritual support to recovering alcoholics. 450 miraculous medals distributed. A praesidium with 8 members and 1 on probation reported visiting the sick. 54 miraculous medals were distributed. Other items include adoration, reciting the rosary in church, organizing pilgrimages, participating in the Way of the Cross through the streets in the city.
HUNGARY
Budapest Regia:
The apostolic work includes visiting nursing homes and hospitals, assisting wheelchair users, and helping elderly parishioners attend Mass. Some of their members were involved in the 33-Day True Devotion Consecration in March. A curia currently has 88 active legionaries and 89 auxiliary members. Members evangelise on Radio Maria and teach religious education to children. During Advent, members made and distributed Advent wreaths to elderly parishioners. To mark Christmas, a nativity play was performed in the church square on Christmas Eve, helping to share the message of Christ's birth with the wider community.
AFRICA D
BURUNDI:
Senatus Gitega
The senatus is governing well with regular visits to their councils. Elections of council officers are regularly ratified and all the required information is included in the minutes.
Comitium Magarama
In February the Archdiocese of Gitega, gave their annual report. It was started in 2021. They have 6 curiae, 68 praesidia (including 6 junior), 836 legionaries (including 80 juniors) and 142 auxiliaries (including 4 adjutorians). They carry out an excellent amount of evangelisation covering the essentials such as family prayer, the sacraments, regularisation of marriages, advising natural family planning. They do many works of consolation. They also reported works of service such as the upkeep of cemeteries and mediation in disputes on 9 occasions. The comitium was encouraged to increase their recruitment efforts, as they had lost many junior members to other Catholic groups.
CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC:
Senatus of Bangui
Works carried out include hospitals, prisons and orphanages visitations. Up to date news is awaited.
DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO:
Senatus of Lubumbashi - Star of the Sea
The senatus has 2 regia, 23 comitia, 15 curiae, and the 4 attached praesidia attached.. There are altogether 16,594 members of whom 16,050 are active members. On the 13th of February 2026, the archbishop of Lubumbashi appointed Father Abbot Joseph Mushitu as the new spiritual director of the senatus, replacing Father Simon Muyaya. The senatus held its 100th monthly meeting on February 22nd 2026, with 84 members attending. We have received the annual report from 2025 and plans for 2026. Proper minutes are awaited.
Senatus of Kisangani
On 22 March 2026, a Mass for the Acies was presided over by the Archbishop of Kisangani, Mgr. Marcel Utembi, at which 850 legionaries renewed their promise.
The Comitium Bikira Mwenyi Heshima has established a new youth praesidium that meets every Sunday at 10 a.m. after Mass.
Two curiae visited the Kisangani Central Prison. They raised awareness among the prison officers regarding respecting the dignity of those prisoners in their charge. Another comitium Bikira Mwezaji visits sick people both in their homes and in hospitals. A member of an evangelical church converted to the Catholic faith thanks to the encouragement of the legionaries after the death of her daughter and is now a member of the Legion. The comitium Mosaleli wa Nzambe visits the homes of the elderly.
Senatus of Bukavu
A visit of support was made to the comitium of Kaziba, located in a rural parish in the Walungu territory, where armed clashes in 2025 caused many people to flee. There was also a visit to the seminarians in Nyangezi. Legionaries visit sick people at home and in hospitals. Because some populations have been displaced due to insecurity, some praesidia have lost members, and it is difficult to recruit new ones. Senatus of Kananga
The junior comitium Mother of Hope meets regularly at the Cathedral. It has 5 curiae with 220 active members. They work hard to encourage Catholics to attend Sunday Mass. They visited 30 households and reached 40 people. They also encourage Christians to take part in the Christian Community (CEV) meetings held in neighbourhoods to promote a lively faith, prayer, Gospel sharing, and mutual help. Three young people were recruited into the Comitium Our Lady Tower of Ivory.
Senatus of Butembo
January 2026 – a attendance 145 including 5 Abbes and 2 priests. 3 comita from the Diocese of Butembo - Beni gave reports. Apostolic works include visits to the sick, poor, orphans, widows, prisoners, refugees were carried out. Also included Baptism of babies, Children were taught catechism, Smokers of hemp after counselling gave up the habit. Marriages resulted for 8 couples following counselling and several young men who had joined sects returned to the church. Visiting the sick and handicapped particularly children was emphasised.
The senatus thanked their correspondent for her praise of the detailed work of their legionaries such as their help to those suffering in wars and calamities in Northern Kivu and wished them a Happy Easter. On Wednesday 25th March all the comitia of Butembo City Centre attended a Mass in the Cathedral before their Acies began, with the Bishop of the diocese. 1 regia, 3 comitia and 2 praesidia attended the March meeting. One comitium with 831 young members was present. 4,539 people were helped by the work of these large councils. 236 infants were baptised and 709 children were taught catechism. 26 boys, smokers of hemp gave it up and 5 priests in crisis were supported. 5 Protestants were catechised and joined the church. 57 couples got married.
Reports from 1 regia and 3 comitia. 1 regia is in the diocese of Bunia raised in status May 2025. 1,596 people were visited, 221 infants were baptised, 182 children catechised, 26 males no longer smoke hemp. Over 100 couples in poor relationships were helped find peace 110 couples cohabiting got married and 4 brothers left sects for the church and 3 Adventists converted.

The works include home, hospital, prison and auxiliary visitation, while great work is being done with the junior and intermediate legionaries. Comitium Kamonyi has 7 praesidia in secondary schools with 137 intermediates and 67 junior praesidia with over 1,000 legionaries, while Comitium Nyange has 9 praesidia in secondary and 26 in primary schools.
MOROCCO
Casablanca.
The legionaries have made a pilgrimage named ‘The door of hope’, with the Clarise Sisters. The visits to migrants continue. They are planning to start visiting hospitals and cemeteries to pray with the sick and bereaved families.
Rabat
All the handbooks, tessera and 3 causes’ leaflets have arrived from Paris Senatus. They will distribute them to all the legionaries of Morocco. They are very grateful to the senatus and to the Concilium for having organised this.
TUNISIA
The praesidium in the Cathedral has made several pilgrimages during the jubilee year and participated actively in the diocesan closure Mass in January. They keep visiting the auxiliary members and orphanages. They run a service of welcome to visitors in the parish. The praesidium in La Goulette Parish, conducted several services during Lent for reaching out to parishioners. During the month of May they prayed the chaplet with parishioners and visitors. Both praesidia continue being very active visiting bereaved families. They visit sick people in their houses and also in hospitals. Handooks and Legion literature are awaited which will greatly assist the legionaries.
