SOUTH AMERICA

ARGENTINA
Buenos Aires Senatus: The Regia of San Miguel taught 800 schoolchildren St. Louis Marie’s True Devotion and all made the Consecration. As a boost for junior praesidia, groups of Velites are being set up in which small children and their parents take part. All Argentina’s legionaries are praying to Alfie for the cure of Tullamore man Declan Kelly.

Cordoba Senatus: Leaflets were handed out at Masses celebrated for Alfie Lambe’s Cause in four Churches. Over 100 legionaries attended a Congress held by the Dean Funes Comitium.

Salta Senatus: In a small rural town the legionaries built a chapel with the help of the local people. While building the chapel the local people were told about the sacraments and prepared for their reception. Many valuable contacts are made with pilgrims and tourists who come to the city. New and timid members take an active part along with older legionaries in the Senatus meeting. In minutes and letters much space is dedicated to Alfie Lambe’s Cause.

Corrientes Regia: A junior Curia reported works undertaken include involvement in a radio programme, lots of street contact, visiting prisoners and the sick in hospitals and elderly in nursing homes. In the town of Goya a single Curia was divided into three in 2012 and one of the Curiae was raised to Comitium on 31 May this year. A new Comitium was set up also in the Basilica town of Itatí.

BRAZIL
Belem Senatus: The Regia of Castanhal reports almost 2,000 homes visited. A Curia reports 68 returns to participation in the Eucharist. 122 youths and adults received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Confession and solemnisation of the Sacrament of Marriage were brought to a couple, one being 89 the other 94. Since the change of officerships visitation of interior councils is taking place.

Belo Horizonte Senatus: Sister Eleusa was applauded when she told the Senatus about the grace she received through the Servant of God Frank Duff, relating to her health. A praesidium instructed mothers of un-baptised children on the importance of the Sacrament and got them inscribed in the parish catechism. 20 Bible Circles were held in some houses. A legionary promised a lady that she would look for her drug-addicted son; he was found under a viaduct and the legionary brought him home.

Fortaleza Senatus: A Curia reported 118 visits to homes bringing Holy Communion; and visits to 48 prisoners. A Comitium in Quixadá had 1,153 visits to homes, and 123 visits with Holy Communion to sick people. The Senatus is undertaking extension in Cascavel.

Ponta Grossa Senatus: Reports from the Regia of Guarapuava and three Comitia showed a total of more than 17,000 home visits made. These included over 5,000 visits to non-Catholic families. Over 1,400 hospital visits were made and over 7,000 visits to sick people in their homes. A person away from the Church for many years returned to the Sacraments and received the Sacrament of the Sick soon before his death.

Recife Senatus: To facilitate active involvement in the parishes, the Senatus meetings are held at 8.30 a.m. on Saturdays. Eight new praesidia were set up as a result of a Peregrinatio Pro Christo involving volunteers from all over Brazil. Several praesidia report on Exploratio Dominicialis. Through street contact a youth living on the streets was rehabilitated. Many places are asking for the Legion. João Pessoa Regia reports setting up a Comitium. Also 363 children were prepared for First Holy Communion.

Rio de Janeiro Senatus: Street contact is made with addicts who are guided to seek rehabilitation. Niteroi Regia, with 17 Comitia recruited 474 active members. After six months of prayer to Frank Duff a mother saw her son reconciled with his wife. A 72 year old made her First Communion and then the Legion promise. Five of the six Senatus Officers were re-elected for a second term, President and Vice President being over ninety. In the west Amazonian region one Comitium with 14 Curiae attached set up a new Curia and two praesidia.

Salvador Senatus: A city praesidum coordinates parish catechesis for 600 children. Another praesidium visits centres for mentally disturbed young people. Home visitation is done by juniors accompanied by seniors. Legionary catechists prepare children and youth for First Holy Communion and Confirmation as well as parents and god parents in baptism catechesis.

Santa Maria Senatus: A Comitium with 70 praesidia has 1,230 active members. Several praesidia report increases in membership as a result of Exploratio Dominicalis. Many challenges face this recently established Senatus. In the town of Passo Fundo special attention is given to promotion of the celebration of the Eucharist in the prisons and a Youth Detention Centre.

São Luis Senatus: This council reports the recovery of four young addicts. Among the results of the main apostolate were the recruitment of 16 active members and 19 auxiliaries; 87 youths and adults were prepared for Confirmation while 283 children and adults made their First Holy Communion. The main apostolate is to families, 34,000 visits being made, including visits to families of prisoners.

São Paulo Senatus: One Comitium reported 188 visits with Holy Communion to the sick at home. Another Comitium called on 945 families and brought a statue of Our Lady to 373 of these, with recitation of the Rosary. A Retreat for young legionaries had an attendance of 120. Our congratulations and thanks go to Rev. Fr. Ivan Danhoni, who recently celebrated 25 years as Spiritual Director of the São Paulo Senatus.

Brasilia Regia: A Comitium reported 1,500 Bible readings on home visitation. Home visitation is given priority in reports from seven Comitia and two Curiae with over 6,000 contacts made by one Comitium. On request, over 2,000 Rosaries were recited with families. A Curia reports organising monthly the 1,000 Hail Mary’s Devotion with the special intention of the prison apostolate.

ASIA

MALAYSIA
Kuala Lumpur Regia: A new praesidium was set up in November 2014 and a new Curia in January 2015. A praesidium attached to the Regia is to join with 5 other praesidia to form a new Curia. A praesidium with 13 members reported visitation of the aged the lonely, lapsed and newly baptised. They also visit an Orphanage. A sick Muslim was consoled and a former Spiritual Director visited in a nursing home. A Rosary Rally took place in a stadium where the Rosary was recited in 20 languages. Another praesidium visits a lapsed Catholic and sick people. They also help to sort medicines at a Dispensary. Council reports include contact with lapsed Catholics and people with mental health issues; they also operate a Book Barrow, visit and pray with prisoners and refugees.

INDONESIA
Malang Senatus: Reference is made to visitation of councils and praesidia. Home visitation to the sick, the elderly and preparing people for the Sacraments feature in reports. Kupang Regia held a Regional Congress. Two praesidia in a Boarding School were visited. Attention is given to juniors and a Conference for juniors is to take place in October 2015.

Jakarta Senatus: Imaichi Church conducts Para-Liturgical Ceremonies on Sundays where no priest is available. They also run a Recycle-Shop as a service to the community. In a joint prayer initiative with Korean-speaking communities they recite the Rosary for peace in Asia. They also care for blood donors. The main works of Hanshin Curia are caring for the handicapped at Mass, bringing Holy Communion with the priest to the sick, helping in nursing homes at meal times, visiting lapsed Catholics; one such person returned to the Church.

KOREA
Seoul Senatus: One Regia recorded an increase in auxiliary members; they now have 9,608 auxiliaries. In their outreach they enrolled 3,332 in catechism classes and visited many sick or infirm people. Chenju Regia had an increase of 18 senior praesidia and a decrease of two junior praesidia; they enrolled 2,882 people into catechism classes.

Gwanju Senatus: Masan Regia reported 31,817 persons initiated as catechumens and 3,518 baptised. Numerous visits were made to sick people in their homes. Je-Ju Regia had 1,004 people baptised and 1,590 returns to the Sacraments. 108 joined the Legion. A Comitium in Geumdang reported 135 people baptised and 127 returns to the Sacraments. A Comitium in Wondong made numerous home visits and 352 people were baptised.

Daegu Senatus: Most reports show recruitment of catechumens, baptisms, returns to the Sacraments, visitation of hospitals, Welfare Institutions and recruitment of legionaries. In one month, Andong Regia reported recruitment of 30 catechumens, 7 baptisms, 48 returns to the Sacraments, over 1,000 visits to hospitals and Welfare Institutions, plus recruitment of 64 new legionaries.

TAIWAN
Taiwan Senatus: From June 2014 to date nine new praesidia have been set up, with six more being developed. A praesidium discovered in an outlying island is being helped by the Legion on the mainland. Fr. Bradshaw’s book (on his work in Russia and Iceland) has been translated into Chinese and is now in print.

SINGAPORE
Singapore Senatus: Councils and praesidia are visited. Kota Kinabalu Comitium reported the formation of a Curia and a praesidium. Kuching Comitium has formed a number of new praesidia. The annual New Year visit to the Archbishop took place.

HONG KONG
Hong Kong Comitium: The December 2014 Minutes recorded the invitation for Sr. Sally Chan to help with extension work in Macau Curia as an Incola Maria, ending in July 2015. The Spiritual Director of Macau Curia has asked that Sr. Sally continue with her Legion service for another six months. This was approved by Hong Kong Comitium. A summary report from Sr. Sally has been forwarded to correspondent, Bro. Paddy McCann; also a report has been received from the Hong Kong Comitium. It is evident that Sr. Sally has put much effort into her time in Macau; she has given valuable guidance to implementation of the Legion Handbook at all levels, at Curia and praesidium meetings; she also made many visits to parishes and schools in Macau.

Mother of the Church Curia: This council, which covers eastern Hong Kong, recorded works of evangelisation, catechumen classes, visitation of prisons and nursing homes, help at funerals, volunteer works in hospitals and parish works. Two praesidia reported on Sunday School work, visits to the elderly and Rehabilitation Centres, plus prison visitation.

IRISH PROVINCIAL REPORT

COMITIA
Cloyne Comitium: Two reporting praesidia have a total of 16 members. Works include home visitation with the Pilgrim Statue. Prayer packs were given to the First Holy Communion children. A book barrow is operated during local festivals. The Comitium and the 2 attached Curiae held a joint officers meeting in February. 66 attended their joint Retreat. Reports were received from East and West Cloyne Curiae. The Comitium hosted the regional Peregrinatio Pro Christo Conference in Mallow on Sunday 12th May.

Cork Comitium: Ballyvolane praesidium has 9 members and 14 new auxiliaries. They visit homes weekly, circulate 2 Fatima Statues and visit a Hospice Care Centre. In May, October and November Statues of Our Lady were taken to two Estates with young families. Glenville praesidium has 7 members; 3 are Praetorians. They have 70 auxiliaries. Each Christmas 400 copies of a newsletter are prepared and 60 are sent to emigrants. Mayfield praesidium has 9 members and 23 auxiliaries. The First Holy Communion and Confirmation classes in local schools were visited and given Rosary Beads and Miraculous Medals. About 60 legionaries from Cork, Cloyne and Ross councils attended the Annual Peregrinatio Pro Christo Conference in Blackrock in January. Muire na Gras Curia: Two praesidia have one Praetorian each and the 4 praesidia record a total of 501 auxiliaries. Works include home, Fatima Statue and hospital visitation. One praesidium visits the First Holy Communion classes. Coronata Curia: Works of the two reporting praesidia include hospital and nursing home visitation. Annunciata Curia: The reporting praesidia have 8 and 6 members. A Mass to commemorate Venerable Edel Quinn was celebrated in Cork city in May.

Kerry Comitium: Recruiting Drives were held in Millstreet, Rathmore and Glenflesk and 8 new members joined the Legion as a result. Two new members joined praesidia attached to Tralee Curia after seeing the Legion advertised in a newsletter. Many schools were visited where the Miraculous Medal was distributed. The Pioneers were promoted in the 5th and 6th classes. In one school a slide show on the Miraculous Medal was shown to 90 students and Miraculous Medals were distributed. Two Pilgrim Statues are circulated to homes by a praesidium with 11 members, 4 of whom joined the Legion as a result of a recruiting drive. Two Chinese children were prepared for Baptism. The Fatima Statue is displayed on Procession on the 13th of each month from May to October in Killarney and contact work is done.

Mid-Clare Comitium: Lissycasey praesidium has 6 members and 67 auxiliaries. Works include visiting old people and distributing Catholic literature. Corofin praesidium has 7 members who visit a Day Care Centre for the elderly; they also do Pilgrim Statue visitation. Shannon praesidium has 8 members, including 3 Praetorians; they have 19 auxiliaries. Works include nursing home visitation and 46 homes were visited with 2 Fatima Statues. The 6 members of Clarecastle praesidium visit hospitals and a Day Care Centre weekly. They coordinate 13 Advent and Lenten home prayer groups. The three Causes are promoted. East Clare Curia legionaries actively promote Echaristic Adoration. West Clare Curia: Reporting praesidia do hospital and nursing home visitation, organise Eucharistic Adoration weekly and did crowd contact at the Legion Caravan during the Willie Clancy Music Festival in Miltown Malbay.

Thurles Comitium: Ballycahill legionaries are busy in the parish and in the Community Hospital. Legionaries in Leugh praesidium held an officers meeting to discuss improving the praesidium. A Holy Hour for the success of PPC was held in April. Four members of a junior praesidium attended the Comitium meeting in April. The parents of the juniors attend their meetings along with 2 senior legionaries. 14 juniors recruited 5 auxiliaries. Tipperary Curia led the special Easter Home Visitation Project in Limerick in which 1,190 homes were called on, 103 lapsed contacted and a Patrician meeting held on both evenings. Eight new members turned up for a meeting. Templebraden junior praesidium has 10 members.

CURIAE
Birr/Roscrea Curia: Borrisokane praesidium has 5 members, including two Praetorians; they have 14 auxiliaries. Their works include bringing the Fatima Statue to homes, holding Patrician meetings and organising Eucharistic Adoration. Shinrone legionaries engage in home and nursing home visitation. The praesidium in Citeaux Hall, Roscrea has 7 members; 4 are Praetorians and they have 28 auxiliaries. They visit the old and infirm. Clonlisk legionaries visit the infirm and promote Catholic literature. The Curia Retreat had an attendance of 52. Some members worked on a Home Visitation Project in Caherdavin led by Fr. Michael Kennedy.

Limerick Curia: Curia delegates have been attending preparation Diocesan Synod meetings. A reporting praesidium with 9 members and 23 auxiliaries has an average of 10 at Patricians each month. Another praesidium with 5 members mails an emigrants newsletter to Abbeyfeale emigrants 8 or 9 times per year. The 8 members of another reporting praesidium undertake hospital visitation and where possible attend funerals of patients.

Lismore Curia: Dungarvan praesidium has 11 members; works include visitation with the Pilgrim Statue, hospital and nursing home visitation. First year students were enrolled in the Miraculous Medal and the ceremony was conducted by Fr. John Harris.

Ross Curia: The April meeting was attended by the Correspondent and 2 Concilium Officers. The Frank Duff talk given by Fr. Eamon McCarthy on March 11th in Clonakilty was very successful. Three praesidia reports featured with 4 members in Barryroe, 17 in Skibbereen and 8 in Darrara. Works include Church cleaning and preparation for various ceremonies, sale of Catholic newspapers, hospital and nursing home visitation. Skibbereen legionaries publish a quarterly newsletter which is sent to 500 addresses.

Waterford Curia: A copy of the annual audit was received with the March minutes. A Concilium Officer and representatives of both Waterford and Lismore Curiae attended the Episcopal Ordination of Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan on Sunday 12th April.

DUBLIN SOUTHSIDE

Assumpta Curia: 25 patricians and 4 legionaries attended 2 Patrician meetings. One praesidium has 9 full members and 1 probationer; they had 4 visitors during the year. All 40 auxiliary members subscribe to the Maria Legionis. As well as the Church bookshop each weekend and home and nursing home visitation, they run monthly Patrician and Frank Duff Prayer meetings with average attendances of 14 and 5 respectively. A nursing home is visited. One resident of the home, who had lost contact with the Catholic Church, now receives Holy Communion on First Fridays. The Miraculous Medal DVD was shown to 3rd and 6th classes in both Primary Schools and Miraculous Medals were distributed.

Gloriosa Curia: Cordial encounters were had in May with the Liaison Officer and Chaplain of Cloverhill Prison, both of whom thanked the legionaries for their work; inmates are given copies of the Bible. Three members of the Maynooth parish praesidium of four women and four men are Praetorians and 13 of their 130 auxiliary members are Adjutorians. A lady from Slovenia was baptised at Easter after being contacted by legionaries and encouraged to take instruction. During weekly home visitation a Muslim man invited legionaries in for tea. Four nursing homes are visited, two of them weekly. A junior praesidium paved the way for senior legionaries to visit a school, teaching the Rosary to students; 6 classes have been visited to date. The monthly Patrician meeting, which had ceased, has been resurrected; 4 patricians and 7 legionaries attended in May.

Spouse of the Holy Spirit Curia: Over 90 people attended the annual Edel Quinn Mass in Tallaght where Fr. Luuk Jansen O.P. a former legionary, was chief celebrant and homilist. One praesidium delivers 30 copies of the Pioneer Magazine. Another praesidium has 6 active and 50 auxiliary members. Parishioners are visited in Tallaght Hospital and various nursing homes; staff from Kerala are pleasantly surprised to receive the Frank Duff prayer in their native Malayalam language. 350 Rosary leaflets were given to 2 parishioners who were teaching schoolchildren how to say the Rosary. Permission was received in one parish to distribute Frank Duff leaflets at all Masses over a weekend in November and those contacted were invited to the Pro-Cathedral Annual Frank Duff Mass.

Immaculata Curia: 7 of the Curia’s 11 praesidia held Patrician meetings in April and May with a cumulative attendance of 52 legionaries and 73 patricians. 7 Primary Schools have been visited using the Miraculous Medal as part of an outreach to schools. In May, two praesidia visited 350 homes during an Exploratio Dominicalis in Fettercairn, an area previously unvisited.

Mater Ecclesiae Curia: The annual Edel Quinn Mass in one parish had an attendance of 100. One praesidium doubles as a Pioneer Council. On eight occasions during the year a legionary was at all weekend Masses to promote the Pioneers. A praesidium with 6 members distributes 135 Maria Legionis. They have 8 Adjutorian members in a local monastery. Up to 10 people join the legionaries for a Frank Duff Holy Hour. 60 personalised baptismal packs were distributed by the praesidium.

Our Lady of Fatima Wicklow Curia: The main work of the Johnstown praesidium, which has 9 members, is home visitation. At the request of the Parish Council the two Primary Schools were visited. Each week 2 members visit Shelton Abbey Prison where, at a prayer service for deceased prisoners, they were introduced to the new Chaplain, the Governor and some senior officers, all of whom were very appreciative of their work. The praesidium asked a retired teacher to give English classes to a young man from Albania who was struggling to fill in Immigration papers. A Bray praesidium of 6 members is also a Pioneer Council and recruited 2 senior and 2 junior Pioneers last year.

Ancilla Domini Curia: 13 attended the April Pauline Circle, including 4 non-Catholics. One praesidium held 93 recruiting efforts during the year. Home visitation is done. They also conduct a weekly Holy Hour. Another praesidium delivers 76 copies of Maria Legionis, visit homes and organise two hours of adoration weekly with a cumulative attendance of around 30. Their monthly Patrician meeting usually has 8 patricians and 2 legionaries present.

Annunciata Curia:.Six Patrician meetings held by one praesidium were attended by 21 legionaries and 47 patricians. The Frank Duff Day in one parish to coincide with the Parish Centenary celebrations was a great success with many visitors to the exhibition and up to 50 in attendance at the afternoon talk by Finola Kennedy, with Fr. John Harris acting as Master of Ceremonies.

EUROPE

Austrian Senatus: This council covers 3 directly attached praesidia, 19 Curiae and 9 Comitia. The Senatus is seeking to put Frank Duff prayer leaflets into every parish in Austria. 5 PPC projects and 2 projects to Lourdes are planned. 21 legionaries will attend the Summer School in Dublin in August. Praesidia reported membership of 9, 7 and 8. Works included visiting former street girls, contact work in a University Campus, and holding “Mercy Nights” where people are invited back to the Church. West Vienna Curia visited priests in their area. Maria Treu Curia held their first Congress; 30 attended. The Northeast Curia did Train Station apostolate resulting in a Muslim teenager being baptised. The Croatian Curia (4 praesidia) distributed 2,000 Frank Duff prayer leaflets and did visitation using 16 Pilgrim Statues. The Korean Curia looked after a dementia patient until her death, organised a Mass and brought her ashes back to her non-Catholic family in Korea. The Filipino Curia (3 paesidia) encouraged couples to have their unions blessed in a Church marriage. Ancilla Domini Curia (4praesidia) with 20 active members has 2 Patrician Groups, 9 Prayer Groups and 9 Pilgrim Statues. South and East Vienna Curia started a new praesidium.
Curia Brengenz did extension in Bludenz, Ludesch and Bregenz.
Innsbruck Comitium did extension in Matrei, Achensee and Weissenbach. Salzburg Curia did street contact work. 12 legionaries from Linz Comitium attended the Senatus Winter School. They promoted De Montfort’s True Devotion. Extension was done by the Curiae of Zell, Steyr, Gmunden and Ried.
Muehlviertel Comitium: Curiae Putzleindorf, Sandl and Tragwein all undertook extension projects. North Burgenland Curia promoted Patricians, Nazareth Groups and held a Congress entitled, “Renewing the Church through Mary”. Middle Burgenland Curia did extension and held events at which 40 and 80 people attended Confession. Croatian Burgenland Curia visited First Holy Communicants.
Graz Comitiuim: This council did extension in Gleisdorf and among the Croatian Community. 30 auxiliaries attended an afternoon Retreat. Leoben Curia appointed officers to the new praesidium in Aflenz. Oststeiermark Curia held a men’s Retreat and organised an Exploratio Dominicalis project.
Ybbs Comitium: Works included recruiting in Petzenkirchen and Purgstall. St. Poelten Curia started a youth praesidium and Amstetten Curia members spoke at a Priest’s Conference.
Zwettl Comitium held a Congress; 3 priests and 27 legionaries attended. Hohenreich Curia did extension in the Czech Republic. Gars Curia brought a long lapsed man to see a priest; this person died soon afterwards.
Vienna Wood Comitium had 200 at an afternoon reflection with 3 priests hearing Confessions.

CZECH REPUBLIC
Olmuetz Comitium: 69 attended its Winter School. A hostel for homeless women organised Christian burials, Baptisms, and directed drug addicts to Cenacolo. 50 attend their Patrician meetings.
Prague Comitium: Their Spiritual Director Bishop Karol Herbst celebrates Mass before each meeting. Bro. Ivan Dietrich’s attributed his healing through the intercession of Frank Duff.

SLOVAKIA
SLOVAKIA Zseliz Comitium: This council has 32 praesidia, 196 active and 1921 auxiliary members. They held a meeting for auxiliaries. Curia Trnava brought a priest to 28 sick people and produced a pamphlet for young people entitled: “10 Reasons why I came back to the Catholic Church.”

MOLDOVA
The Curia has 9 praesidia, 61 active and 84 auxiliary members. They visit alcoholics and promote Enthronement of the Sacred Heart in homes.
BULGARIA: The Curia has 8 praesidia. Extension is taking place in Rakovski. Permission was granted to start the Legion in the southern Diocese.

UKRAINE
Sr. Kriss and Bro. Hager reported on their visit: Kamanets Curia helped the new praesidium in Lemberg, 19 attended the Tscherniwtsi Curia Retreat. Extension was done in Kiev.
Schitomir Comitium: There are new praesidia in Komsomolsk and Wolotschisk. The meetings in Donetsk have restarted since November 2014. Despite the war there was no cancellation of meetings in Gorlowka. The Greek praesidium in Weliki Mosti is working well and there are African student praesidia in Kiev, Winnitsa, and Ternopol.

BELARUS
The Comitium governs 10 directly attached praesidia and 10 Curiae. Works include hospital visitation with both Catholic and Orthodox priests, prayers during funerals, household help to priests, formation of Prayer Groups and catechesis of families preparing for Baptism. In Borovlyany there was testimony of a cure attributed to the intercession of Frank Duff.

CROATIA
Zagreb Regia suffered the great loss of its Spiritual Director, who died suddenly having served 44 years as a priest. 90 legionaries attended the Winter School, the main theme “The Joy in the Service of Mary.” From reports of Comitia, Curiae and praesidia numerous returns to the Sacraments were recorded, two after 60 years, one after 50 years and one after 30 years. A praesidium of 8 members recorded 62 people returning to the Sacraments.

BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA
Sarajevo Curia: Their apostolate includes visitation of 4 hospitals, a Care Home for children and a Gerontology Centre where legionaries prepare residents for Confession and escort blind people to Sunday Mass.

HUNGARY: Extension is on-going. 70 legionaries attended the Winter School. Reports show numerous returns to the Church.

LATVIA: Promotion of the 3 Causes featured in all reports. Jelgava Curia has three praesidia and Leipijie has two praesidia.

LITHUANIA
Kaunas Comitium: With two attaches Curiae, this council gives much attention to recruiting, resulting in 7 new active members and 15 auxiliaries. Legionaries pray the Rosary daily in a local Day Centre where many of those met have no religion, or are lapsed for years. They arrange a monthly Mass in a Night Shelter for the homeless.
Telsiai Comitium: The Diocese has 153 parishes and the Legion is in 30 of them. Two people who went to Confession after an absence of 50 years, died soon afterwards.

POLAND
Warsaw-Metro Comitium: Recent reports show that praesidia are working faithfully. There was a notable presence of legionaries in Plock Cathedral on 11th June for the Episcopal Jubilee of Bishop Marcinkowsky, Bishop Protector of the Legion in Poland.
Comitium Warsaw-Prague: Two praesidia have each 10 full members. Among works reported are home visitation, teaching the Rosary to young children, spiritual care of residents in two nursing homes, plus organising prayers in Church and on Catholic Radio.

ROMANIA
Satu Mare Regia held its annual Retreat in February with 170 legionaries in attendance. Among the works are helping people to prepare for the Sacraments. 42 homes were consecrated to the Sacred Heart. Bro. and Sr. Calice visited Bucharest Curia, which has 8 praesidia and 60 active members.

CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC
Bangui Senatus reports that life is still far from normalised following the invasion of last year.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO
Kinshasa Senatus: Following the death of Bro. Joseph Mbeka in April after his visit to Kisangani at the request of Archbishop Utempo Tapi to prepare the Regia Officers for the raising of the Regia to Senatus status, a message was received from Bro. Amissi, the new Senatus President to say that all were grieved by Bro. Joseph’s death. RIP.

Katanga Senatus: This council recently sent visitors to Mbuji-Mayi Regia, which governs the Legion in East Kasai and was happy with the outcome.

Lubumbashi Senatus: Three new officers were elected. The secretary Bro. Jaques Mwambila was elected for a second term. The directive for March was to visit the poor in their areas, the parishes and the hospices for the elderly. The president is hoping to visit Concilium later this year.

Butembo Senatus: All their councils from the Dioceses of Bunia, Wamba, Butembo, Lubero have given their reports to Senatus during this period. There are 8 Youth Curiae in total. All these Councils have large memberships. They have one praesidium for 19 mothers. A new Comitium in parish of Lyambo is planned for June 2015. A new Comitium for parish of Mavoya is also planned for June 2015.Large numbers of infants and some adults were baptised. Couples were blessed and reconciled as were families. Prisoners, orphans, elderly, sick and poor, soldiers, victims of war in Beni were also visited. Children were taught their prayers, how to say the Rosary and taken to Mass. Large numbers of people of other religions were visited. Alcoholics and smokers of cannabis or hemp gave up the habit. Large numbers of young people joined the Legion as did catechists. Protestants, Adventists and members of sects became Catholics. Churches and cemeteries were maintained. Rosaries were said on home visitation. An appeal from Spiritual Director Pere Molondy called on all to live together in peace and to reject conflict, war and massacre and urged that refugees and displaced people be treated with respect and that adoration of Blessed Sacrament be done as often as possible. He asked everyone to learn the Litany of the Blessed Virgin for the Jubilee year of Senatus (25 years) and to motivate the young and men to join the Legion of Mary. The May meeting was marked by all the participants attending a Mass celebrated by the Archbishop and 5 Bishops from the ecclesiastical zone of Eastern Congo to pray for peace and an end to massacre in the 4 territories. All delegates attended the Mass. Legionaries travelled long distances to the Dioceses of Mahagi and Bunia on visitation at the end of May and early June. The sad news came that Fr. Jean Pierre Ndulani the Assumptionist priest in detention in the hands of local armed groups, died due to harsh conditions and his poor health, as he had severe diabetes. The other 2 priests were handed over to the Adf/MDI in exchange for other prisoners. Frs. Anselme Wasukundi and Edmond Bamtupe were beheaded because they would not convert to Islam.

RWANDA
Kigali Senatus: Home, hospital, orphanage, auxiliary and prison visitation are mentioned among the works as well as Auxiliary Rallies. One Curia has problems because of illiteracy.
Comitium Kigarama, which has 22 and Curiae, 11 attached praesidia, 116 junior praesidia with over 1800 juniors, 14 praesidia in Secondary Schools with over 690 members, over 3,000 seniors and 683 auxiliaries.
Comitium Kabgayi is equally impressive. The correspondent advised on setting up of a junior Curia. The 4 other Comitia and lower councils reporting are also very active with juniors and intermediates. The Senatus web-site is visited a lot. The Frank Duff prayer is translated into the national language.

MAURITUS
(Rodrigues): Reports show that the Regia is functioning well, organising Pilgrimages, Exploratio Dominicalis, Junior Rallies, and Retreats for Legionaries. Reports include parish activities, bringing Holy Communion to sick and elderly, teaching catechism to the young, organising Adoration and Rosaries in Churches and Stations of the Cross in Lent. They held a day of foundation for officers recently. Acies held in all regions from 22 to 29 March had good attendance, 200 in one area. They are planning celebration of 75 years of Legion for 6th September at Mt. Thabor.

REUNION
They are planning celebration of 70th. Jubilee on Sunday 11th. October. Works include visitation, home to home, and of the sick and elderly, catechetics, family reconciliations with prayer, accompanying priests on visits for Confessions and Holy Communions to the ill. They plan to visit Madagascar from 14th of July to 8th of August with the permission of Fr. Adriano, National Director, visiting the Curiae there, principally in Morondava. At Toamasina they hope to found a new Curia in the Diocese of Ambanze. A Bishop has requested that the Legion be founded in his Diocese and they ask for prayers for this project. They mention with love, Eva McGorish, RIP, who was with them in 1985.
