Garda vetting forms received after 6th April are being returned to the applicants so that they can transfer their details on to the new form which has been received and which came into effect from 29th April 2016
A change has come into effect from 29th April in that the National Vetting Bureau (Children and voluntary persons) Act 2012 is now a legal requirement. The Committee is studying the contents of the Act in more detail. However, the immediate changes affecting new applicants are – that the new form is to be used; the form has to be accompanied by an Invitation Form which is to be signed by the praesidium and Concilium President and also be accompanied by 2 pieces of identification (e.g. driving licence, passport etc.).
There is an interim period to allow everyone to become familiar with this process and the expectation is that this will go online from the Autumn.
